QES Inc. traces its origins back to 1985 when its founder Eric Lieberman handled land use entitlement processes for the planning division of a civil engineering firm based out of Ventura County.

As he scaled the learning curve and implemented task efficiencies that benefited both the firm and its clients, Lieberman began to envision a different future for himself and for those who sought to build, rebuild, and renew Southern California.

Fast forward about eight years. Eric has graduated from Cal State Northridge and is working for a real estate law firm, honing his land use and entitlement skills performing due diligence work on massive real estate acquisitions.

Then, in 1993, Eric strikes out on his own, and QES Inc. is born.

Within a few years of its founding, QES had assisted land developers in obtaining entitlements for development projects valued at $250 million.

Eric’s expertise made him a valuable partner for real estate developers and builders throughout the City and County of Los Angeles. In 1997, Lieberman was recruited by the then publicly traded merchant home builder Kaufman and Broad as the Director of Forward Planning for the Greater Los Angeles Area, including Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. In this capacity, he organized and managed the acquisition and entitlement of master-planned communities throughout Southern California. This included projects in and around Los Angeles, Ventura, Simi Valley, Camarillo, and Santa Clarita.

As president of QES Inc., Eric brings the full range and wealth of his knowledge to bear on each and every project brought to his desk.

QES has helped shepherd development approvals from L.A. (city and county) and other SoCal municipalities on more than 500 projects. These developments were for a wide range of projects: single-family subdivisions, multi-family condominium projects, mixed use, commercial, conversion developments, affordable and senior housing complexes.
